FA Cup Scores for St. Ann’s Hospice

St. Ann’s Hospice in Manchester has taken receipt of a brand new Renault Master Wheelchair Accessible Minibus as part of their care to around 3,000 patients, relatives and carers in and around the Greater Manchester area.
The hospice, the largest in the north of England, celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2011 of providing care to adults who are affected by life-limiting illness.
The new minibus, donated by Manchester City Football Club, was sourced and built in a very short timescale of just three weeks by conversion and mobility specialists Stanford Coachworks Ltd.
The handover took place on 22nd June at St Ann’s Hospice in Heald Green and was greeted by a large and excited audience. The event was attended by special guests including previous Manchester City football players Mike Summerbee and Paul Lake, City in the Community Managing Director Sarah Lynch, St Ann’s Finance Director Liam McCarthy, Stanford Coachwork’s Representatives David Hardacre and David Wiggins and was filmed by CityTV.
To the surprise of all who attended, the FA Cup was displayed alongside the bus, players and patients.
“When news of the minibus sponsorship came in from the Club we immediately thought of Stanford Coachworks because of our existing relationship with them and their excellent quality conversions” Liam commented.
St Ann’s is a registered charity and provides its services free of charge. It covers a population of 1.2 million people and provides care on three sites as well as in people’s own homes. The hospice receives a third of its funding from local NHS Primary Care Trusts and has to raise the rest of the money itself which equates to £16,000 per day.
The Renault special purpose conversion has six passenger seats together with three wheelchair passengers, plus the driver, a specialist Ricon wheelchair lift and has external livery branded for St Ann’s and Manchester City Football Club. Because of the large catchment area the Hospice serves the new accessible vehicle will be a real benefit.
“We  previously supplied two buses to St. Ann’s four years ago and as there is a current shortage of smaller vehicles with no MWB Peugeot Fiat or Citroen vehicles available at the time, I managed to locate a 3500LWB Renault Master,” explained David of Stanford Coachworks.
“Slightly larger than the vehicle initially required, it does allow an additional wheelchair space in the minibus which the Hospice have said will be useful.”
The minibus went into immediate service on the day of the handover and has been a welcome addition to the hospice’s transport facility.
Sarah Lynch, Managing Director of CITC said: “We are delighted to have been able to support St Ann’s, a hugely important North West Charity, particularly as they enter their 40th year. The bus will be of such great value to people in the local area, and we are proud to have been involved.”

Stanford Coachworks are a conversion and mobility specialist founded in 1994. Their national distribution network supplies over 400 buses each year including luxury mini coaches, wheelchair accessible minibuses, ambulances, PTSs and high class limousines to many charitable, private  and public sectors, throughout the UK.

TWO DELIVERIES IN ONE DAY FOR LUCKY RENAULT WINNER JOSEPHINA!

News from RENAULT ENFIELD

For immediate release: Monday, 4th July 2011

There were two exciting deliveries in quick succession for lucky mum Josephina Bond who recently won a Mégane Coupé Cabriolet and also gave birth to baby Cara.

It was a memorable week all round for the Islington family who had to postpone the collection of their stunning prize as an arguably better one was just about to make her appearance in the world!

With beautiful sunshine and blue skies this week, the family collected their prize Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet this week. It was the perfect top prize in a national competition run by Renault and TomTom to find people with great voices for satellite navigation.

The competition accompanied the recent announcement that actor Brian Blessed’s distinctive and mellifluous voice is now available on TomTom satellite navigation, including Renault’s own fully-integrated Carminat versions of the popular systems.

Best known for his role as Prince Vultan in the film Flash Gordon, he recorded his voice for TomTom after a Facebook campaign called "get Brian Blessed to do a voiceover for my sat nav" attracted more than 25,000 fans.

The campaign, started by motorist Richard Gardner from Manchester, is thought to be the first time a product has found its roots in social media.

Brian also fronted a campaign to find a ‘Voice of TomTom’ where winners could win a Renault New Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet GT Line TomTom worth almost £25, 000.

To enter the competition, participants were invited to record their traffic stories onto a 30-second video, before putting it up on social networking site Facebook. They could also enter via radio competitions with Heart London and Real Radio Scotland, where listeners had the chance to vote for their favourite voice.

Josephina was hailed one of three winners who have all won themselves the stunning Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet offers integrated TomTom LIVE navigation system as standard on the Renault Dynamique TomTom range.

Their voices have all been professionally recorded and will be available as free downloads from TomTom in time for April 2011.

Darren Fay, sales manager at Renault Enfield, who handed over the keys to the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet to Josephina, said: “Congratulations to the whole family. We’re sure all of them, including new baby Cara, will love the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet – it’s a very lucky baby that gets to enjoy top-down motoring at such a young age.

“Sensibly, the Bond family has upgraded their prize to include leather seats, making cleaning a doddle!”

A clip of the entertaining recording session is available to watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMiLQwKLSQM. Meanwhile, Brian’s recording, which contains gems such as "Toll Charge.  Give them the exact money and tell them to keep the change" and "You've reached your destination.  Congratulations.  Onwards and upwards! To Everest next, and the North Pole,” can be downloaded from the official TomTom website, http://www.tomtom.com, for £7.95. Customers should check which devices allow voices to be downloaded on the website.

Carminat TomTom, the industry’s first truly affordable built-in satellite navigation system, was launched by Renault in January 2009. It is now fitted as standard to the Dynamique TomTom and Privilège TomTom trim levels of each bodystyle in the standard Clio, Kangoo, Mégane, Scénic, Laguna ranges, plus the core trim levels of the Kangoo, Trafic and Master van ranges, for no additional cost. The system is also available as a £460 option across most other trim levels, including Renaultsport, of these same car and van ranges.

WIND ROADSTER FLIES THE RENAULT WIRRAL FLAG AT KITE FESTIVAL

Renault’s Wind Roadster helped fly the Renault Wirral flag at the ninth annual International Kite Festival over the River Mersey last weekend.

The Woodchurch Road dealership took the £16,000 two-seater roadster along to the two-day event and it was well-received by the more than 10,000 visitors that descended on New Brighton.

The Festival featured international kite flyers from the Far East, Australia and Europe with the conditions perfect on a wet and windy weekend on the Dips overlooking the Mersey Estuary.

Renault Wirral General Sales Manager Paul Bradley said: “’The Wind’ could not have been a more appropriate vehicle for Renault Wirral to have taken to the festival because without the wind this event would not have taken off!

Seward Portsmouth becomes Renaultsport specialist

                                                                                                    www.renaultsport.co.uk

NEWS FROM SEWARD PORTSMOUTH

For immediate release; Tuesday, 28th June 2011

SEWARD EARNS ITS RACING STRIPES BY BECOMING RENAULTSPORT SPECIALIST

Renault dealer Seward collected a special award this week after the dealership was officially recognised as a Renaultsport Specialist – making it one of only a select few in the UK to have earned such a status and the only one in Portsmouth.

The recognition was presented by Renault UK and now sees the Bilton Way dealership offer its customers a dedicated Renaultsport centre, providing hot hatch fans with all their Renaultsport needs in one place.

Alongside the dealership’s existing Renault services, motorists will be able to access all three award-winning Renaultsport models as well as call upon the expert knowledge and advice of Renaultsport Sales Expert Adam Simmonds, himself an enthusiast of the French brand’s iconic performance arm.

Together with Adam, Aftersales Expert Paul Edney, will help provide customers with a bespoke Renaultsport after-care service handling all servicing, accessory and merchandise requests.

What’s more, both Adam and Paul, can be contacted direct via phone  or email by new or existing customers to help answer any general Renaultsport queries they may have or to receive expert advice on either past or present models.

The current Renaultsport range comprises of the flagship Mégane Renaultsport 250, the Clio Renaultsport 200 and the Twingo Renaultsport 133. For the second consecutive year, all three models have won ‘Best Hot Hatch’ in each of their respective price categories in the annual What Car? Car of the Year awards with the Mégane Renaultsport 250 winning the overall ‘Best Hot Hatch’ of the year – again for the second year in a row.

Indeed, the popularity of the Renaultsport range is clear to see with last year’s worldwide sales seeing an increase of 78% (on 2009) with UK dealers only second to France in terms of total global sales.

Adam, Renaultsport Sales Expert at the dealership, said: “We’re really looking forward to showing customers around the Renaultsport range as we know they’re going to be just as impressed with them as we are...and the UK’s motoring press for that matter.

“It helps having some great driving roads just outside Portsmouth too, as well as a race track like Thruxton on your doorstep, allowing owners to experience the full potential of the Renaultsport range and how impressive they are both on the road and the race track.”

Renaultsport Aftersales Expert Paul said: “Our Renaultsport service extends right from the initial test drive through to caring for your Renaultsport in the future. All Renaultsport models are highly-tuned machines requiring that expert touch and genuine Renault parts so our approved workshop caters for just that.”

John Buckham, Sales Manager at Seward Renault, added: “As part of our celebrations, we’re inviting local Renaultsport owners – be it an original Renaultsport Spider to a brand new Mégane Renaultsport 250 – to drop by the dealership for a free, no appointment, safety check for their car.”
