NEWS FROM JAYBEE MOTORS BANBURY
For immediate publication: Monday, 16th May 2011
A special presentation awaited technician Barry Simpson at his workplace Jaybee Motors in Banbury this week to mark his 25th anniversary at the dealer.
Barry, aged 63, received a specially engraved iPod touch from his colleagues and management at the dealership where he has worked since 1988.
Barry left school at the age of 16 and almost straight away started his career in the motor industry. After moving to Chipping Norton, he worked at Benfields for 17 years where he worked on all makes, before moving to Renault Trucks.
He joined Jaybee in 1986, two years before the dealership became a Renault dealer. Such was his talent, he was chosen to be one of the very first technicians in the whole of the UK to be invited to become a Renault Technical Expert (RTE) – technicians with the very highest levels of knowledge and skill in the Renault network.
John Dauphin, managing director at Jaybee Motors said: “Congratulations to Barry who has dedicated 25 years of service to the dealership. In fact, it’s Jaybee Motor’s 25th anniversary as a Renault dealer in September this year, so to have someone on the team, in this day and age, who has shown such loyalty has been great. Barry started his work here in the days of the Renault 5, and it’s been interesting to see the progression from there in terms of technological advancement right through to the range today which is set to welcome the Kangoo Z.E. Van in October this year which is the first of a range of electric vehicles launched by Renault. Again, many congratulations to Barry on this wonderful achievement!”
