RENAULT MANCHESTER LEADS THE WAY BY LAUNCHING FIRST ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Renault Manchester was at the forefront of recent history after becoming the very first Renault UK dealership to offer electric vehicles to customers.

Anyone visiting the Trinity Way showroom can place an order for their Kangoo Van Z.E. or simply pay a visit to electric vehicle specialist John Williams to find out more.

John underwent a comprehensive and specialist training programme to fulfil his role and is on site to answer questions about the electric van, which is the world’s first electric light commercial vehicle (LCV) produced by a mass market manufacturer.

He said: “We were very proud to be the first dealership to ‘go live’ with the Kangoo Van Z.E., which has already won the International Van of the Year 2012 title and What Van? Magazine’s top prize.

“I am here for customers to come and talk to, and weigh up the benefits of owning an electric vehicle and see how it could benefit their lives.

“As the Renault electric vehicle range rolls out, there will be something for everyone and each model will attract different customers to the showroom.

“I am very enthusiastic about the Kangoo Van Z.E and enjoy talking to customers about how it  works, as well as answering any other questions.

“Things people might want to know more about include the monthly battery hire plans to reduce concern over replacement costs and operation guarantees.”

There are currently twenty one dealerships that have invested in the infrastructure to allow them to showcase the Kangoo Van Z.E. Staff at each of these dealers have undergone specialist preparation and technical training to address the demands of the new technology.

Renault Manchester, like the other dealerships, has been fitted with new charging points with provider British Gas – one for the workshop and one for the car park. There will also be a charging point in the showroom to provide demonstrations to customers. 

The Kangoo Van Z.E. starts at just £16,990 excluding VAT, with monthly battery hire from £60 (6,000 miles annual mileage over 3 years), and following the recent government announcement that the electric vehicle grant is now extended to include vans customers can now buy the standard version for as little as £13,592 excluding VAT and delivery. Leasing rates are available from £424.59 per month with battery life guarantee, roadside assistance and 100,000 mile warranty.
