Staff at the Digbeth-based Renault Birmingham enjoyed shouting ‘top o’ the mornin’ to ya’ to passers-by yesterday as they helped celebrate Birmingham’s annual St Patrick’s Day Parade with their very own float.
More than 80,000 people helped celebrate Sunday’s parade, which took place through the streets of Digbeth and the city centre, complete with Irish dancing, music and traditional entertainment.
The dealership, based in Birmingham’s Irish Quarter Digbeth, was among those taking part in the festivities in honour of the patron saint of Ireland.
As well as Renault Birmingham staff, the dealership also bought with it three sign-written Renault cars in the form of a Mégane Renaultsport 250, a Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet and Clio Renaultsport 200.
The icing on the cake though was sales manager Declan O’Grady dressed as a leprechaun along with his eight-year-old daughter Darcy!
Declan said: “The event was a lot of fun and all the staff enjoyed being a part of the festivities. The parade travels right passed our showroom so it’s great to be a part of it.”
“Like Renault’s current advertising campaign, the St Patrick’s Day Parade certainly has plenty of Va Va Voom!”
The celebrations will continue until March 17th as part of Birmingham’s St Patrick’s Day Festival that has become one of the largest celebrations in Europe.
