Renault Birmingham is helping ensure a local football team is kept going in tough economic times by offering ongoing sponsorship and support this year.
Arden Forest Youth first approached the dealership for help two years ago, and have been receiving  support in the form of sponsorship for their kits and tournaments ever since.
Team Assistant Manager, Alan Green, explained how as a self-funding club they don’t know how they would have got through 2011 without the backing of Renault Birmingham staff.
He said: “In the recent tough economic climate, in a recession, we couldn’t have been sure of things without Renault Birmingham being there for us. They have sponsored our football kits and also come and had a presence at our tournaments with their Renault vehicles and Renault banners.
“We really appreciate everything they do for us, having their backing just makes such a difference and really gives us peace of mind.
“The young players really enjoy what they do, so it is important to them that we keep going strong and keep them together as a team.”
The Under 12s team, who are managed by Mark Whitton, most recently held a large tournament in Barrows Lane, Sheldon, in July and Renault Birmingham staff sponsored and attended the event.
Declan O’Grady, General Sales Manager of Renault Birmingham said: “Sponsoring the team is very worthwhile and we get as much enjoyment out of supporting them and watching the games, as they do playing.
“It is important for Renault Birmingham staff to get involved in the local community and also help ensure these young footballers get to do what they enjoy so much. It is a pleasure to be able to help.”
